Kenya has faced heavy rainfall since September 2023 due to El Niño and a positive Indian Ocean Dipole, with the Kenya Meteorological Department predicting the rains to peak in November and continue into January 2024. 33 out of 47 counties have been impacted and thousands of people have been affected by riverine floods, flash floods and landslides. The IFRC and its membership seek CHF 24million (CHF 12 million of which is expected to be raised by the IFRC Secretariat) to reach 50,000 households with life-saving assistance. Please donate now!
