Super Typhoon Rai (Odette) slammed into the coastal areas of Eastern Philippines on Dec 16, causing landslides and widespread flooding. Philippines Red Cross teams have been working alongside the authorities and other agencies, supporting preparedness efforts, and distributing essential relief supplies to affected communities. To support the response from Philippines Red Cross, IFRC has launched an Emergency Appeal seeking CHF 20,000.000 for a response period of 24 months. The operation aims to meet the immediate and early recovery needs of 81,000 of the most vulnerable affected households (405,000 people) in 15 chapters in Regions V, VI, VII, VIII, X, XI, Caraga, and MIMAROPA.
