Fighting in Sudan has escalated rapidly in Khartoum and across the country. Many people have lost their lives, with more wounded and in need of immediate medical attention. Hundreds of families have not been able to leave their homes and many are in need of essential supplies such as food and water. People have been displaced within Sudan and cross borders including to Chad, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Egypt. The IFRC and its membership are seeking CHF 30 million to support Sudan Red Crescent's response and provision of essential humanitarian assistance (CHF 20 million of which will be raised by the IFRC Secretariat).
